BELGIUM

To pursue higher education in Belgium, Pakistani students must obtain a student visa (Type D). The application process involves several key steps and specific documentation:

  1. Admission Confirmation

Acceptance Letter: Secure an official admission letter from a recognized Belgian educational institution. Note that provisional admission letters are not accepted.

  1. Visa Application Form

Completion: Fill out two visa application forms accurately.

Photographs: Attach three recent color passport-sized photographs (35–40 mm in width) that meet the specified requirements.

  1. Educational Documents

Academic Credentials: Provide original diplomas, certificates, and detailed mark sheets.

Attestation: These documents must be attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) in Pakistan.

  1. Financial Proof

Sponsorship: Submit an original sponsorship certificate (Annex 32) completed and signed by a guarantor, legalized by the appropriate authority.

Guarantor’s Solvency: Provide evidence of the guarantor’s financial stability, including salary slips for the past year, employer’s certificate or work contract, tax documents, and bank statements for the last three months.

  1. Administrative Fee

Payment Proof: Present proof of payment for the administrative fee required by the Belgian Immigration Office.

  1. Police Character Certificate

Requirement: Obtain a recent Police Character Certificate covering the last five years for applicants over 18. If you’ve resided in multiple countries, certificates from each are necessary.

Attestation: The certificate must be apostilled by the competent Pakistani authorities.

  1. Medical Certificate

Health Assessment: Acquire a medical certificate from a doctor accredited by the Belgian Embassy, confirming the absence of diseases that could endanger public health.

  1. Passport

Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for at least one year beyond the visa’s expiration date.

Copies: Provide copies of the first pages of the passport.

  1. Language Proficiency

Requirement: Depending on the language of instruction, demonstrate proficiency in English, French, Dutch, or German.

Proof: Submit relevant language test results or certificates.

  1. Submission Process

Biometric Data: Applicants must appear in person at the Visa Application Center to provide fingerprints and a live digital photo.

Application Centers: Visa applications are processed through Gerry’s International Visa Drop Box facilities in Pakistan.

  1. Processing Time

Duration: Processing times can vary, especially during peak periods. It’s advisable to submit your application well in advance of your intended travel date.

  1. Additional Considerations

Legalization of Documents: All Pakistani documents must be original and, if required, apostilled by the competent Pakistani authorities.

Translation: Documents not in English, French, Dutch, or German may need to be translated by an authorized translator.
